. The high-voltage battery system also utilizes a DC-DC converter to step down the voltage from the battery to charge the 12V auxiliary system that powers the car's electronics. 

Motor Control Unit (MCU)
  • Function: The MCU is central to the P1's hybrid system, managing the interaction between the gasoline engine and the electric motor.
  • Power conversion: It converts the high-voltage direct current (DC) from the battery into alternating current (AC) to drive the electric motor.
  • Performance: The electric motor is designed for instant torque, filling the gaps in the V8 engine's powerband for a combined output of 903 horsepower. 
DC-DC Converter
  • Function: This converter takes the high voltage from the main hybrid battery (around 400 volts) and converts it into a much lower voltage (12V).
